Gothic church, the oldest monument of the city located in Aigues-mortes

Named after the swamps that surrounded the town, this Gothic church is the oldest monument in the town (13th century). The last witness of the embarkation of Saint Louis for the crusades, it was sacked several times and became a church again in 1804. Listed as a historical monument since 1991, the altar is also listed. Claude Viallat, an artist well known in the region, has installed 31 luminous stained glass windows in collaboration with Bernard Dhonneur, master glassmaker.

Jolie mais pas exceptionnelle
Nous y sommes entrés pour pouvoir répondre aux questions de la chasse au trésor de l'office de tourisme, sinon, nous serions passés devant sans franchir la porte. Mais cela reste tout de même une jolie église.

Elle fût édifiée par ST LOUIS et est le monument le plus ancien de la ville. A la révolution elle a été utilisée comme temple, caserne et entrepôt à grains et à sel. L'intérieur a de jolis vitraux et une charpente en bois
