SENTIER DES ORCHIDÉES
A 1.5 km walk along a typical, authentic trail, with 16 different themed desks and panels.
Heading towards the village of Lagrasse, above Talairan, the Orchid Trail is announced by a large sign. A "tasting of Aude garrigue", as Jean Pierre Mazard, initiator of this 1.5 km walk and owner of the Serres Mazard winery, likes to call it. It's a real pleasure to stroll through this typical, authentic area. You'll discover a trail featuring 16 different themed desks and panels, with an in-depth analysis of the many facets of the Aude garrigue. Here, all is beauty: pines, wild orchids, cicadas, birds, vines, ladybugs, truffle oaks, scents, dry stones... A discovery that's both natural and fun. Last but not least, there's the "Path of the Planets", a short 250 m trail that plunges you into the secrets of the planets, revealing their mysteries thanks to fact sheets produced by schoolchildren. Along the way, you'll find benches to enjoy the scenery, picnic tables to recharge your batteries, and an orientation table.
The walk naturally ends with a tasting at the Domaine Serres Mazard cellar, where you'll discover delicious AOP Corbières in all 3 colors. The wines have been HVE level 3 certified for a number of years now, which seems only natural when you're as passionate about flora as Jean Pierre Mazard.
