The pre-Roman oppidum of Pech Maho is located in a remarkable setting in Sigean, a historic site worth discovering.
The pre-Roman oppidum of Pech Maho was a trading post occupied by three successive villages between the 6th and 3rd centuries B.C. Built on a triangular limestone hill at an altitude of 29 m, it covers an area of 1.5 ha. The site, at the crossroads of sea, river and land (the Spanish Way), was discovered in 1913 by Henri Rouzaud. Several excavation campaigns have shed new light on the life of the Elisyques in the Narbonnais region during the Iron Age. Information at Musée des Corbières.

visite très intéressante
Une visite qui permet de compléter celle du musée. Pech Maho faisait partie des oppida du sud de la Gaule et la visite du site vaut le détour.
