Museum-site in Sallèles-d'Aude with an outdoor trail leading to an ancient potters' garden and an arboretum.

Amphoralis is a site-museum that opened its doors to the public in 1992. The museum overlooks the archaeological excavations of a Gallo-Roman potters' workshop, active from 20/30 BC to the ^3rd century. The museum exhibition traces the activities and daily lives of these potters, who mass-produced amphorae for transporting wine, as well as various building materials (bricks, tiles) and everyday tableware. An outdoor trail leads to an ancient potters' garden and an arboretum.

Opening time and information on AMPHORALIS

Open all year round. October to April: Tuesday to Saturday and 1st Sunday of the month, 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm. May to September: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm. Closed January 1, May 1 and December 25. Free admission for under-26s, recipients of minimum social benefits, minimum old-age pension, teachers preparing a visit without prior reservation, asylum-seekers, holders of ICOM and ICOMOS guide-lecturer press cards. Free admission for disabled visitors and their companions on presentation of CMI card. Adults: €5. Groups (10 people): €4. 3-site pass (including Narbo Via museum and Horreum): €15. Guided tour: €2 in addition to admission. Children welcome. Animations. Member of the Narbo Via public establishment for cultural cooperation (EPCC), which groups together two other sites focusing on Narbonne's Roman history: the Narbo Via museum and the Horreum. Bookshop.

Honneur aux potiers !

Le musée à 30 ans. 30 ans que sont conservés et présentés les fouilles in situ d'un atelier de potier Gallo-romain. La présentation du musée est très bien faite, les maquettes et reconstitutions très pédagogiques. La balade jusqu'au jardin et les ateliers vaut le détour. A visiter, et re-visiter en famille !
