In the heart of the vineyards of the Val de Dagne, the cellar of the Domaine Calmel et Joseph welcomes you for tastings of products from the property. If the wine, in organic farming, is the main production of the place, you will also be able to discover the olive oil or the honey of the scrubland. The Calmel and Joseph vintages come from a variety of terroirs, spread between the Black Mountain and the Mediterranean. The tasting offers some nice surprises, from "light" wines to more robust and complex ones, several of which have won medals, such as the "Villa Blanche" range, to name but one.

Incredibly beautiful vineyard, with amazing service and staff! Wines were gorgeous and as complete wine newbies, the experience was so informative. We were very very late (45 minutes, completely our own fault!) and were still fully accommodated and given a full tour and tasting! Such a relaxed, laid back atmosphere. No snobbery whatsoever. Also, a warning to anyone who intends to cycle from Carcassonne (like ourselves); if you input the bike function on google maps, it will make you traverse fields, private property etc. You would be better off putting in the car function and following that route.

Nous sommes venus pour une séance de dégustation. Nous sommes habitués à en faire et avons parfois rencontré des personnages hauts en couleur. Celle-ci est sans conteste une des meilleures que nous ayons faites. Sur le papier, au moins 6 vins sur 1 heure. En réalité, cette fois, ce sont 13 vins pendant 2 heures que nous n’avons pas vues passer! Et au-delà de la quantité, ce sont bien les qualités des vins dégustés et le professionnalisme, la sympathie et l’humour de notre hôtesse que nous souhaitons mettre en avant.
