The Château Fontiès wine estate was created in 1860 by Alphonse Coste-Reboulh, the great-great uncle of the current owners. Alphonse Coste-Rebouth participated in the great restoration of the City of Carcassonne alongside Viollet-le-Duc. A street in the city bears his name. This visionary built the cellar of the property in 1869 following a semi-buried architecture, which gives it a great thermal stability. The family estate of Château Fontiès spreads over 41 hectares, at the foot of the Montagne d'Alaric
