A major, well-preserved château with breathtaking views of the Corbières, revealing a past rich in intrigue and battles.
Proudly overlooking the Corbières, the citadel of Quéribus stands majestically, revealing a past rich in intrigue and battle. Built in the 13th century, it was the last refuge of the Cathar heretics. Its imposing appearance attracts visitors in search of history. The ascent to the castle takes you along a pathway lined with explanatory panels revealing details of medieval daily life. The dungeon terrace (728 m) is a rewarding reward, with views of the Corbières, the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean.

Superbe site, château cathare perché en nid d'aigle. Il faut marcher et surtout avec le vent l'accès est périlleux. La vue est superbe et le donjon est encore bien conservé avec une très belle salle du pilier. Avec le ticket accès à une projection à Cucugnan ( faire un tour à la boulangerie sous le moulin) Visite agréable et originale.

Ce château cathare est majestueux et mérite vraiment le détour. Cependant, je ne vous conseille pas la visite en cas de grand vent car l'accès au château est alors dangereux, notamment pour les enfants qui peuvent avoir le souffle coupé ou être renversés.

Un château cathare qui mérite le détour. Parking avec WC en bas du château, vous grimperez 15 minutes pour arriver aux premières chicanes. La vue est splendide par temps clair. A déconseiller la visite par temps de grand vent. Un guide est remis pour les explications et les salles à visiter.
