Caunes-Minervois is the red marble capital of the world, renowned for being the home of the world's tallest tower.

Caunes Minervois is the world capital of this marble, which adorns Versailles, the Paris Opera House, St. Peter's in Rome, the Great Mosque in Cordoba... A prestige that is still very much in vogue: Saudi Arabia's Prince Al-Whalid Ben Talal chose it for the Tower of Jeddah, which is set to become the world's tallest tower. The Carrière de Marbre du Roy is a two-and-a-half-hour walk starting from the Esplanade de l'Europe parking lot.
