Discover Caunes Abbey in Cathar country. At the abbey, you can lose yourself in the labyrinthine architecture and stroll through the centuries: Romanesque chevet, Maurist cloister, underground archaeological remains, remains of the original church dating from 790, a church richly decorated with the famous Caunes incarnate marble (also found at Versailles). Caunes Abbey is also an artistic and cultural center: painting and photography exhibitions, shows and festivals (theater, music, dance, astronomy...). In summer, wine tastings on Sunday mornings!

Closed December 24, 25, 30 and 31 and January. Open (February, March, November, December) Tuesday to Friday 2pm to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm; (April, May, June, September, October) Tuesday to Sunday 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm; (July, August) daily 10am to 7pm. Adults €6, children aged 6 to 16 €2.50 (under 6s free). Guided tours in July and August: departures 11am and 3pm. Included in admission ticket. Souvenir store and local products. Leashed dogs welcome. Pays Cathare site. Throughout the year: painting and photography exhibitions. Group ticket with the Ecomusée du Marbre, open from June to September.

La conservation de l'abbaye, sur plusieurs niveaux est très intéressante.
L'abbazia benedettina di Caunes-Minervois è composta da una chiesa abbaziale, un portico romanico, un chiostro classico, resti di un chiostro medievale, vestigia di una cripta carolingia, edifici conventuali, una loggia abbaziale, un museo lapidario e un giardino.
