Castel Saveurs opened in spring 2015 in Cité Médiévale, within walking distance from Château Comtal. Specialist in refined mixtures, Castel Saveurs offers a choice of more than sixty spices, so precious and so dear in the Middle Ages that they were used as a medium of exchange, and left, in our everyday language, expressions such as "payer en espèces" (paying in cash) i.e. in spices, or even "un compte d'apothicaire" (a complicated calculation). You will also find in this stall a wide variety of teas, as well as scented salts, vinegars, mustards and peppers with varied tastes, and spice mixtures intended for the preparation of aperitifs.
