The Jardin du Calvaire in Carcassonne is an interesting place to get lost in the narrow streets.

Carcassonne is not full of mysterious little gardens, so stumbling upon this one is a happy accident. At first glance, the garden looks rather ghostly because of its religious history, but today it offers an interesting relief for those who want to get lost in the narrow streets. Its founder, Canon Jean Cazaintre, took care to plant sacred botanical species in the 19th century. Today, they keep company with the statues of the ancient and Catholic cult, some of which have been partially renovated.

Dommage que ce jardin historique ne soit pas du tout entretenu. Il faudrait le restaurer, ajouter quelques bancs, de jolies plantes et fleurs pour le rendre +attractif. Un endroit abandonné attire toujours les malfrats. Aujourd'hui je suis tombée nez à nez avec 3 migrants à l'attitude suspecte et qui occupaient le centre du jardin, je suis aussitôt ressortie.

Einst spannender Platz am Rande des Zentrums, jetzt leider völlig heruntergekommen. Die Pflanzen fehlen oder sind vertrocknet, die Gebäude baufällig und teilweise verfallen. Schade.
Für Rollstuhlfahrer und Kinderwagen nicht geeignet.
