Excellent wine tasting today, with a knowledgeable, witty and informative guide, who has wine running through her veins. We came away informed, charmed with a boot full of excellent wine

After a wonderful lunch next door, we wandered in and met Loic who hosted an entertaining and absolutely fun tasting session for two American wine rookies with minimal French ability. He also introduced us to an excellent local beer. Our only regret was how much we could fit in a suitcase.

Yesterday we visited le grand Celièr. What an absolutely worthwhile, educational and enjoyable time we experienced. Starting with an overview of the local wines available for purchase, we watched a beautifully crafted video designed to give visitors, who may not be aware of the struggles endured by local vignerons in the early 1900s. The video was very moving, telling of the local hero Marcelin Albert in his struggles to save both the viticulture and the people of Midi. After watching the video, Luïc, our host, took us through one of the most authentic and passionate journeys I have ever experienced when being introduced to, and tasting wines. I cannot speak highly enough of this experience. You will find the wines on offer to be extremely good value for money!
