Who hasn't dreamed of changing the table as you want? It is this little miracle that meets the artothèque that, on the same principle as a library, lends works of art to individuals so that they can install it at home or at their place of work. This is a unique concept in Aquitaine. A simple beginner or art lover, you will only have the embarrassment of choosing to change the décor of your walls at a lower cost! The collection from the 1940 s to the present brings together more than 650 original works (paintings, drawings, collages, photographs…). The annual membership for the individual (inhabitant of Pessac or not) is 50 € and, at the rate of € 10 per work, you have two months to contemplate the table before making it and selecting a new one. The artothèque also organizes exhibitions of works from the permanent collection, meetings with artists, workshop visits and thematic evenings (videos, conferences, debates). Animations are provided for businesses, communities and school establishments. The reception is remarkable and invites to enjoy contemporary art.
