VIGNE DE CACHAN
A not-to-be-missed place to visit in Cachan, with more than 500 vines tended by the town's gardeners, and adorned with a staircase
In 2000, the town of Cachan planted no fewer than 350 vines, a figure that has now risen to 500. On a well-exposed plot, the vines are tended by the town's gardeners. The area has been enhanced with a "vine climb": a fine staircase that makes for a pleasant (and sporty!) stroll around the site. Every year, the town's streets are enlivened by a grape harvest festival to celebrate this little wine, which may not be sold commercially, but is said to have character!
