Museum dedicated to the history of Melun, with Gallo-Roman remains, paintings and exhibitions
Transferred in 1967 to the former residence of the Viscounts of Melun, the museum exposes the history of the city through Gallo-Roman vestiges (vases, stone elements, bone objects...), a graphic collection dedicated to Melun and its monuments (paintings of the Flemish school, a bronze by Barthélemy Prieur, pewter by Philippe Malet, earthenware by Boissettes...). The museum proposes temporary exhibitions, conferences but also workshops for children.

Deuxième tentative de visite et deuxième fois que nous trouvons porte close aux horaires théoriques d'ouverture, alors que rien ni sur le site ni sur le disque téléphonique pourtant consultés tous deux ne le mentionnait. Aucune information non plus à l'entrée. Consternant d'être aussi peu adapté à l'accueil de visiteurs.

Par respect pour les éventuels visiteurs, veuillez SVP tenir à jour les informations fournis sur votre site. Cela éviterait les deplacements inutiles et les pertes de temps (70 km).
