Museum dedicated to the history of Melun, with Gallo-Roman remains, paintings and exhibitions
Transferred in 1967 to the former residence of the Viscounts of Melun, the museum exposes the history of the city through Gallo-Roman vestiges (vases, stone elements, bone objects...), a graphic collection dedicated to Melun and its monuments (paintings of the Flemish school, a bronze by Barthélemy Prieur, pewter by Philippe Malet, earthenware by Boissettes...). The museum proposes temporary exhibitions, conferences but also workshops for children.

Petit musée qui propose d'excellents ateliers pour les enfants avec différentes tranches d'âge. Mes enfants de 4 et 8 ans adorent ces ateliers et repartent toujours très fiers de leur création. Les thèmes des ateliers sont variés et adaptés à l'âge des enfants. Les enfants vont observer quelques objets du musée puis réalisent une création inspirée de ces objets. L'intervenante est très gentille et interagit parfaitement avec les enfants.
