An aqueduct used to carry water from Paris, transformed into a monumental work of art by sculptor Jacques Servières.

Originally, there was an aqueduct to carry water from Paris. On its route, the stone bridge that spanned the Marne at Chessy was destroyed during the Second World War. The bombardment propelled huge blocks of limestone into the Marne and onto the riverbanks. In 1987, sculptor Jacques Servières set about transforming them into works of art, creating an open-air sculpture garden on the banks of the Marne. A monumental work and a whole world of divinities borrowed from mythologies the world over. Bewitching!
