Lodging in a castle with terrace and French park on the banks of the Seine.

In a 17th century property on the banks of the Seine with a French park of 1 hectare, the "Château de Rouillon" welcomes its guests in one of its 5 rooms, including 2 suites with classic furniture and view on the surroundings. In winter, you will have breakfast in the Empire lounge, while in summer, the terrace will offer you a pleasant view.

Très bel endroit pour un court séjour, bien au calme et tout près de la Seine. On a vraiment l'impression de séjourner dans un lieu chargé d'histoire. Les hôtes sont très accueillants et sympathiques. Petit déjeuner délicieux.

It's not every day one gets to stay in a french king's hunting lodge..|Chateau de Rouilon is the wonderful 16th century home of the most charming and kind of hosts Piere and Henri.. |An easy hour away from Paris and less than 20 driving minutes from the incredibile |Chateau du Fontainebleau and the even more incredibile |Chateau Vaux le Vicomte, |it sits overlooking France's main river Seine.|History has it as a hunting lodge for the "Good King", Henry the 4th of France and then as a home for one of his favourite mistresses Gabrielle d'Estrées. ||Bought by Piere's great, great grandfather in 1877,|Charles Grangé spent much of his fortune restoring the place .. |Inherited from his father in 2018,  and as luck had it for us, it is now also a unique Bed & Breakfast.|Inheriting a Chateau might sound amazing but it does come with lots of  Responsability.|Piere told me |" You only live once in this lifetime, so we try ."  ❤ |The whole place invited me in;|the wrought iron main gate; the lush, green garden; |the glass door giving a peak into the beautiful enterance hall;|Even the quirky old stairs guided me up to a bright and spacious bedroom, with beautiful views.|The bedroom door opened on it's own to encourage me further in! What more could I ask for ..This is exactly what a Paranormale Investigator awaits but it was such a pity I was not filming at the time! |If you are looking for the modern take or a Royal 4 poster bed then you might be a bit dissapointed. |I was not and I loved the oldie world feel of this historical Chateau. |I do have to say thank you so much to my hosts for such a warm welcome and delicious breakfast .. ????|I loved this old Chateau and her energy. ❤|A Christmas at the Chateau sounds like a good idea!
