On its own, this place is a model of its kind in the architecture of the fortified medieval farms of Brie, modelled on the principle of strong castles: towers, water moat, a guard room with killers. Built in the th century, this fortress allowed the traditional functions of a farm to be performed. The farmhouse preserves a pigeon servant, used to be used as a watchtower and converted to pondoir for pigeons. Now private property, the Fief des Epoisses can only be admired from outside.
