Paris's temple of lyrical art and classical dance, whose museum recounts the monument's three centuries of history.
The Palais Garnier, one of the major pieces of the Haussmannian works, is a temple of lyric art and classical dance inaugurated in 1875. It is admired as much for its programs as for its architecture, including the grand staircase, its foyers housing sculptures and paintings, its great hall with its legendary 8-ton crystal chandelier and its ceiling painted by Chagall. Its museum tells the story of three centuries of history of this prestigious monument. Simply fabulous!

Opening time and information on OPÉRA NATIONAL DE PARIS – PALAIS GARNIER
Closed on January 1, May 1 and on performance days. Open every day from 10am to 5pm (last visit at 4:30pm). Shows from September to July. Reservations at the Palais Garnier and Opéra Bastille box offices from Monday to Saturday from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm and one hour before each performance. Free for children under 11. Adults: 14 €. Reduced rate 10 €. Guided tour. Restaurant. Store.

Visite guidée oblige. Les visiteurs sont très très nombreux mais l'audioguide permet de bien "suivre le guide".
