The Comédie Caumartin is one of those popular theaters where laughter has been the order of the evening for decades. Numerous plays by Georges Feydeau, Tristan Bernard and Sacha Guitry, as well as "one-man shows", are on offer. Built in 1906, this 400-seat theater was named the Comédie Royale before adopting its current name in 1923. It closed in 1932 and was revived 20 years later by Jacques Fabbri's troupe. From 1960 to 1980, it presented "Boeing Boeing", Marc Camoletti's timeless vaudeville. Since then, one boulevard play follows another.

Built in 1913 for King Edward VII of England, one of the great lovers of Belle Époque Parisian life, this was the theater where Sacha Guitry premiered many of his plays during the 1920s. After extensive renovations, the theatre reopened in 2001 under the direction of Bernard Murat and Jean-Louis Livi. This handsome, vast 720-seat venue is located close to the Opéra Garnier, on a pretty pedestrian street that was pedestrianized several decades ago. Its programming, both popular and cutting-edge, is a great success.

The Bout was created by the company Les Cousins d'Arnolphe, which had the project to give the café-theatre the letters of nobility it deserves, to prove that it is a full theatrical discipline, a formidable way to address the essential issues of life. Their performances have travelled through the halls of Paris and elsewhere, with the support of Sylvie Joly, Yves Lecoq, Philippe Bouvard or Catherine Lachens, patron of the Café-Theatre school who sits at the End. The site opened in 1999. With 50 seats, the Bout Square room features mainly one man shows and the creations of the house troupe. In addition, there are open scene evenings and children's shows. In 2007, a second room was opened. Named The Round Round, it is specialised in the stand-up. Here is a little Bout with great ambitions!

There was a skating rink where since 1891 this hall has been named New theatre. The actor and director Lugné-Poë, the future founder of the theatre of the Works, is the founder. He defends Scandinavian authors like Ibsen and Strindberg, as well as Jarry, including Ubu King and here created with San Gémier in the title role in 1896. The actress Réjane bought the room in 1906 and gave her his name. She creates here Mrs. Sans-Gêne, from Victorian Sardou. It is when Léon Volterra resumes the place in 1918 that the current name is assigned to him. THÉÂTRE LA BRUYÈRE

Theater

The theatre of three hundred and sixty squares was created in 1943 by two actors, Georges Herbert and Paquita Claude. It's launched when in 1948, Robert Dhéry set up Les Branquignols, a crazy show mixing the insane humour of the Marx Brothers with a typically French drolatique spirit. Coming from the théâtre de la Death, Georges Vitaly took the direction of the room in 1954. Until 1982 he defended his contemporary authors, Jacques Audiberti in the lead. Stephan Meldegg then continues to serve the creators of his time in this theatre. Two notable pieces among others: What Fox, James Saunders, sees as being staged by Laurent Terzieff and Kitchen and Dependencies, Agnès Jaoui and Jean-Pierre Bacri. Have played here in recent years: Rufus, Francis Perrin, Niels Arestrup, Philippe Clay, Philippe Laudenbach, Jean-Jacques Vanier… In 2007, Marguerite Gourgue succeeded Stephan Meldegg.
