If the Folies are Bergère, it's because the café concert built here in 1869 was to take a street name. As the nearby lanes all bore surnames, only this pretty, evocative word would do! At the end of the 19th century, the room's promenade saw many demi-mondaines and noceurs pass by. In 1926, Joséphine Baker, another big star of the Folies Bergère, arrived, along with numerous revues. This was followed by musicals and other productions such as "Nine" and "Fame", as well as numerous shows.

Magnifique façade Art Déco. Au centre de la façade un bas-relief, représentant une danseuse vêtue d'un chapeau-cloche, doré lors de sa récente rénovation. Une institution depuis la fin du 19e !

Un lieu magique pleine d'histoire et un spectacle à coupé le soufle. Un seul bémol Jean Paul devrait sortir ses aiguilles et refaire les sieges qui tombent un peu en morceau.

Je suis allée voir le spectacle Les Choristes au début du mois. C'était la deuxième fois que je me rendais dans ce théâtre pour le moins rustique. La salle est magnifique ! Cela dit, un petit rafraîchissement ne ferait pas de mal. Surtout en ce qui concerne les fauteuils. Je recommande le rez-de-chaussée pour les spectacles. On y voit assez bien la scène.

Very beautiful place in concert to the façade and the ART DECO ACCEUIL ROCCOCO, room with pink curtains and red velvet seats is excellent at the acoustic level.
