Castarède's know-how is based on a long tradition, which dates back to 1832 in Lavardac. If the company, now in the hands of Florence Castarède, representative of the 6th generation, has a window on boulevard Haussmann in Paris, its family, cultural and gastronomic heritage is in Mauléon-d'Armagnac, at the Château de Maniban. There, on the edge of the Landes forest, on land where the winds deposit marine sands, the Castarède house cultivates sixteen hectares divided into four grape varieties: piquepoult or crazy white, ugni blanc, colombard and baco. Distillation is still carried out in the traditional way, on the property, in the two stills of the family, one of which is more than half a century old. The eaux de vie then age for a long time in oak barrels until they become very fine Armagnacs. A know-how rewarded at the end of 2017 by the label Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant.
