A curious pagoda dedicated to private events, with a rich collection of books on Asian art, in Paris.

If you take a stroll around the Ternes district and Parc Monceau, you may come across a curious red pagoda that stands in stark contrast to the Haussmann-style architecture of the area. This unusual building on Rue de Courcelles is home to a superb art collection whose origins date back to the 1920s when Ching-Tsai Loo, a wealthy merchant with a passion for Asian antiques, installed his collections here, transforming the original building into the jewel box it is today - just waiting to be discovered!

Marchand et collectionneur d'art asiatique, Ching Tsai Loo fait transformer un hôtel particulier classique en pagode à la couleur rouge par l'architecte François Bloch en 1925.

Interessant a situer et voir pour son originalité en plein Paris mais ne se visite pas. Dommage pour nous et pour le bâtiment qui mériterait d'être entretenu comme il le mérite.

Superbe pagode souvenir de la Chine..appartenait à un monsieur Loo.. la pagode demanderait plus d entretien,..très intéressante à visiter...
C est un des repaires pittoresques du quartier..je l ai toujours connue et j ai 3/4 de siècle.. vaut le coup d œil et la visite dans ce quartier très bourgeois..
