One of the most elegant parks in Paris, created by painter Louis Carmontelle in 1778.
Considered as one of the most elegant in Paris, this park was created by the painter Louis Carmontelle in 1778 to decorate a folly of the Duke of Chartres. The site is dotted with caves, rivers and amazing constructions: Egyptian pyramid, ruins of ancient temple ... Later, a rotunda designed by Ledoux was built at the edge of the park to house the octroi services of a barrier that was part of the Fermiers généraux wall. Under the Second Empire, private mansions were built there while a large part became a public garden.
