Préfon-Retraite is a retirement and provident scheme for the civil service. Everyone chooses the amount of their contribution, starting at €19 per month. The married or civil union spouse can benefit from the Préfon-Retraite advantages. It is possible to start receiving the pension from the age of 55, regardless of whether or not you retire. In the event of liquidation before the age of 60, the number of points acquired is reduced. A coefficient is applied to it that varies according to age, e.g. -5% at age 59. After age 60, the number of points is increased: +3% for example at age 61, +24% at age 65. The Préfon-Retraite scheme is a points-based scheme which guarantees that for each euro contributed, you know with certainty the amount of the pension paid out at age 60 and that the pension acquired cannot fall (Article R441-19 of the Insurance Code). With the reform, the Préfon is to be replaced by the Plan Épargne Retraite (PER) like all retirement savings schemes.
