CAFÉ JACQUEMART-ANDRÉ
Located in the hotel's former dining room, the Jacquemart-André café is the most beautiful tea room in Paris. Louis XV consoles in carved and gilded wood, magnificent 18th-century tapestries and to crown the whole painted ceiling of Tiepolo where the trompe-l'oeil characters leaning against the balustrade give the impression of greeting visitors. Pleasant, brunch on the terrace, overlooking the garden. This enchanting setting should take you back to the days of great artists such as Titian or Botticelli. A very beautiful break in the heart of the city, a spot not necessarily known - and that we are offering you!

If you are visiting the Museum, you will likely spend several hours and should plan to have lunch at Le Nelie, which is a top-notch restaurant.
Bad news - no reservations. SO - be sure to queue early for the opening if you want to get in and get served quickly. The restaurant opens for lunch beginning at 1000 - we queued at 20 minutes to 10 and were in the first 10 people to get in. Also - there is NO entry between 1100 and 1145, so if you don't get in before 11, you must wait until after 12 to enter. It is open until 1800 most days (1900 on Saturdays and Sundays, and 2200 on Fridays).
You can visit the restaurant without visiting the museum (but why? - the museum is wonderful too).
We started with Kir Royales (and had seconds with our mains).
I had the Carpaccio de boeuf which was beautiful as well as savory. The beef was thinly sliced and accompanied by toast with tapenade, wonderful little button mushrooms, large caper berries, and potatoes gratin dauphinois. My wife had the Salad Nelie, which was a mised salad with two different salmon pieces (smoked and marinated in dill), plus potatoes and vegetables.
For dessert, my wife (like most patrons) chose the "Patisserie au choix" - you go with your server to the dessert display and choose what pastry dessert you would like. They then serve the dessert to your table. I went with the "Coupe 2 parfums" a lighter pairing of Guajana dark chocolate and vanilla with Bourbon bean infusion ice creams.
