Museum providing a broad overview of Maillol's work
In 1964, André Malraux, then Minister of Cultural Affairs, decided to install seventeen works by Aristide Maillol opposite the Louvre (after a gift from Dina Vierny, the artist's model and collaborator, and her son), but it wasn't until 1995 that a museum dedicated to him was inaugurated on the Left Bank. It not only exhibits works by the sculptor and painter, but also regularly organizes temporary exhibitions. A restaurant completes the ensemble. Of particular note, to the left of the entrance, is the masterly Four Seasons fountain.
