Secours Catholique was founded in Lourdes in 1946. Today, this association federates a network of tens of thousands of volunteers around 76 delegations, 2,400 reception areas and 3,700 local teams. Its goal is to fight against poverty, inequality and exclusion. It calls on public opinion and public authorities while proposing long-term solutions. It also trains young volunteers, especially in France, for a minimum of 9 months, thus offering them the status of National Civilian Volunteer.
