Restaurant with a pastry bar on the Left Bank, serving contemporary and Italian cuisine

On 29 August 2023, this restaurant opened under the name "Hémicycle". Well-known in this part of the Left Bank for having been the setting for Loiseau Rive Gauche, it is now owned by a well-known media figure, who had the judicious idea of putting Italian Flavio Lucarini in charge of the kitchens, developing his talent in contemporary and Italian cuisine. On the sweet side, chef Aurora Storari masterfully manages the magnificent pastry bar. Prices are in line with those of a restaurant of this level.

A quick review right after the meal. I might update it later, with the benefit of time.
Follow me for all my reviews and updates (I’ve tried all the Michelin stars in Paris under 365 days and every 3 stars in France… and more).

The restaurant is in the galaxy of Éclore that already have multiple stars.
It seems quite clear that they are looking for a star, like a real pro would. The service is there, the appetizers, the bread (the good one), the butter, the wine list, the mignardises also. It’s not just a gastronomic, it’s a gastronomic that wants a star and they re not shy about it.
The flavors are strong and the acidity is there to support it.
The service is aiming for the star.
The crowd was very business (a lunch during the week in front of the assemblée nationale…)
It’s a good place to be for a business meal indeed if you’re around. But even if you’re visiting, you want a break and want to be well treated, it’s also the right spot.
Side note: the vast majority of the staff is Italian (the chef is, etc..). It adds a little charm.

What could they work on? The cuisine is quite powerful, may be some steps to help us reach the level. The service is great but there’s some little room for improvements.
The strong points: The Michelin ready for a star atmosphere. The powerful flavor cuisine. The open cuisine setting.

Update: It was indeed awarded with a star a month later.

Bravo pour votre 1ere étoile ????…..C’est vraiment mérité. Une cuisine savoureuse qui mêle des saveurs originales….et les desserts ????!!!

Dîner dans ce restaurant 3 jours avant sa 1ere étoile. Je ne crois qu'il n'y a pas besoin de plus de commentaire.

Quelle belle surprise! Restaurant comme on les veut: une atmosphère chaleureuse, une équipe professionnelle et une cuisine à se lécher les babines. Nous avons passé, avec mon époux, la St Valentin au bar de cuisine et quel spectacle. Nous nous sommes régalé, avons put discuter en fin de soirée pour découvrir un chef passionné en plus de talentueux. Nous avons hâte de revenir.
