HOTEL D'AUBUSSON * * * *
Hotel with decorative elements, patio, winter garden, rooms with original beams and four poster beds
A 17th-century mansion with a solid oak porte cochère remains a vision of yesteryear. The mansion has been completely redesigned to meet today's requirements. The spacious entrance hall exudes conviviality, with its warm tones, tiled floor and close proximity to the Café Laurent jazz bar. The interior patio, a veritable winter garden but very pleasant in summer, amplifies the whispers of a discreet fountain. The quality of the décor is a testament to its history: stone slabs polished by time, original poutraisons, Versailles parquet flooring, period furniture, a monumental Burgundy stone fireplace and, noblesse oblige, genuine Aubusson tapestries in the reception rooms. Some rooms have kept their original beams and are decorated with four-poster beds. Small details of great importance: American plug, magnifying mirror, old-fashioned luxury fittings in all rooms, and on request: professional massages using a variety of methods (Californian, Swedish, shiatsu, Thai, Chinese, Ayurvedic, hot stone...). Le Café Laurent has seen some of the world's finest people pass through its doors, including Voltaire and Rousseau.

Our room was a loft with two bedrooms, and it was the perfect size for the 3 of us. My daughter enjoyed her little twin bend in the alcove. I also made use of the day bed downstairs in the common area. Like everything else in Paris, the room was compact but very efficient and had all the necessary amenities.
Staff was exemplary, no false notes. Special thanks to Kamal at the bar for his fantastic cocktails and Lakshman & Reschad at the door / lobby who were always so warm, gracious and helpful, no matter what the need. The entire front desk staff and concierge were very professional, kind and courteous throughout the week, and housekeeping left the room immaculate each day with nice little touches at turndown service whether it be little chocolates or fruits.
The location, in the heart of the bustling 6th district, can't be beat, but you're also in the quiet and peaceful confines inside the hotel. We were a 15 min walk from the Louvre, the Orsay, and the Luxembourg gardens to name a few.
Restaurants within and adjacent the 6th district were generally very good, lots of different options to choose from each day.
Highly recommend this hotel for your stay, as a couple or small family, you won't be disappointed. I would give this hotel 6 stars if I could, it's one of the very best we've experienced in Europe.
