Mosque built in the 1920s by the French Republic, inaugurated by President Gaston Doumergue.
Seeing the minaret of the Grande Mosquée de Paris is always a sight to behold. Erected in the 1920s by the French Republic in recognition of the Muslim soldiers killed in the First World War, the mosque was built on the site of the former Pitié hospital. Its architecture respects the codes in force in Maghreb countries. You're immersed in an Arabo-Andalusian world of carved wood and stone, mosaics, patios, and gardens.

Great place, the visit is fairly quick but the place is nice and considering the entrance costs only 3 euros I think it’s definitely worth a visit.

Supreendente! Lugar de paz. Silencioso. Lindo! Depois de muitas visitas em Paris, sempre ficou fora das minhas prioridades. Porém, nesta manhã tive tempo para, com calma, conhecer esse lugar e de quebra passar ainda pelo Jardin de Plantes que é ali perto.

Nice garden. Nice structure too. But it lacks maintenance. The cafe attached to it attracts muslims and non muslims in droves, probably coz it reminds them of Morroco
