Mosque built in the 1920s by the French Republic, inaugurated by President Gaston Doumergue.
Seeing the minaret of the Grande Mosquée de Paris is always a sight to behold. Erected in the 1920s by the French Republic in recognition of the Muslim soldiers killed in the First World War, the mosque was built on the site of the former Pitié hospital.
