Mosque built in the 1920s by the French Republic, inaugurated by President Gaston Doumergue.

Seeing the minaret of the Grande Mosquée de Paris is always a sight to behold. Erected in the 1920s by the French Republic in recognition of the Muslim soldiers killed in the First World War, the mosque was built on the site of the former Pitié hospital. Its architecture respects the codes in force in Maghreb countries. You're immersed in an Arabo-Andalusian world of carved wood and stone, mosaics, patios, and gardens.

Le hammam est très beau (surtout la salle intermédiaire) et le prix intéressant pour un lieu traditionnel comme celui ci. Le bassin d'eau froide dans la dernière pièce est un vrai plus. Par contre il peut vite y avoir beaucoup de monde le week-end.
Les pâtisseries orientales à emporter en sortant sont délicieuses !!!
