ESPACE SAINT-MICHEL
The Espace Saint-Michel is an essential cinema in Paris because it is one of the oldest in activity. Founded in 1911 by Victor Gandon, a conservator of Bouillon Gandon, who reconvertit part of his institution in cinema, this Espace first welcomed the spectators in a large hall (500 seats) before being divided into two smaller rooms (one hundred seats). The landmark event dates back to 23 October 1988 during the terrible criminal fire perpetrated by a group of people from Catholic fundamentalist backgrounds because of the release of Martin Scorsese's Film, The Last Temptation of Christ. The record was heavy: 13 injured. Established in 1991, the establishment is still playing a committed programming that gives thought to the great topics of the st century.
