HÔTEL LE RELAIS SAINT-JACQUES * * * *
Hotel on the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route offering spacious and refined rooms, some with balcony.
The Saint-Jacques hotel takes its name from its location as it is on the path taken by the pilgrims of Saint Jacques de Compostelle who went to the Saint-Jacques du Haut-Pas church. The German poet Rainer Maria Rilke stayed there for over a year. The hotel has been renovated and the rooms are large, comfortable and elegant. Some rooms simply have furniture made out of mahogany, others have a more distinctive style: Louis XV, Louis XVI, Manueline style, empire. Their names come from the castle in la Loire: Le Clos Lucé, Azay le Rideau, Chambord, Chenonceaux, Candé, etc.. Some overlook the Abbé de l'Epee street with its old trees, others on the Pantheon and we benefit from a balcony on each floor.
