Majestic palace, owned by the Guise family in the century, home to the National Archives and the Hôtel de Rohan.

The Hôtel de Soubise is a majestic 18th century palace which today houses the National Archives, as does the Hôtel de Rohan. Property of the de Guise family in the 16th century, it later became the headquarters of the Holy League, spearhead of the Catholics against the Protestants during the Wars of Religion. But it owes its present appearance to the royal architect Germain Boffrand (18th century) and it was in 1808 that it was assigned to the conservation of the National Archives.

Une très belle découverte que ce musée des archives nationales. Avec des documents historiques comme l'édit de Nantes ou le serment du jeu de Paume accessible au public. L'exposition temporaire était très intéressante également.
