Fountain dated 1828, designed by Louis Visconti and sculpted by Georges Jacquot in Paris
The Gaillon fountain stands at the foot of a mansion that houses a restaurant. Dated 1828, it was designed by Louis Visconti and sculpted by Georges Jacquot. A charming feature of the district, it replaces an earlier fountain, built in 1707 by Jean Beausire. The base of the Gallion fountain features a small figure armed with a trident and riding a dolphin. The work faces another restaurant, well known to literature lovers: Drouant. This is where the Prix Goncourt is awarded.

This crossroads is the heart of the Gaillon district, probably the most pleasant in the district. The fountain, which is the setting for the terrace restaurant, makes it totally picturesque.
