Nearly 900 treasures (manuscripts, coins, maps and plans, prints, costumes...) from the collections of the kings of France in a remarkable museum in the heart of Paris, a reading room housed in the splendid oval gallery, a research library and a garden: such is the Richelieu site of what is commonly known as the BNF. A must-see is the Mazarin gallery, built by François Mansart and featuring ceilings painted by Romanelli.

Il est beau, relaxant et rempli de livres de toutes sortes. Les Parisiens la fréquentent pour étudier, se détendre et faire des recherches, voire des travaux scolaires. Même avec une telle bibliothèque, je serais toujours là à étudier ????

Le site Richelieu de la BNF a perdu de sa notoriété depuis l'ouverture du site Tolbiac, mais il reste le lieu historique et de loin le plus beau des deux. Des visites sont possibles les jeudis et samedis après-midi. Elles valent le coup !

Ne pas oublier, sur le site Richelieu de la BnF, le musée des monnaies, médailles et antiques. Il comprend quatre salles sur deux étages, avec des pièces remarquables, comme le trône de Dagobert ou des antiquités grecques. L'entrée est gratuite, ce serait dommage d'ignorer cette magnifique collection.
