Nearly 900 treasures (manuscripts, coins, maps and plans, prints, costumes...) from the collections of the kings of France in a remarkable museum in the heart of Paris, a reading room housed in the splendid oval gallery, a research library and a garden: such is the Richelieu site of what is commonly known as the BNF. A must-see is the Mazarin gallery, built by François Mansart and featuring ceilings painted by Romanelli.

足を踏み入れた瞬間、時が止まるほどの圧巻の光景
リニューアルされた館内を進み、メインの閲覧室「楕円形の閲覧室（Salle Ovale）」に足を踏み入れた瞬間、本当に息をのみました。360度、床から美しいドーム型の天井まで、壁一面をぎっしりと埋め尽くす無数の本棚。その光景は、まるで映画や物語の世界に迷い込んだかのよう。自然光がガラスの天井から優しく降り注ぎ、古い本の匂いと、ページをめくるかすかな音だけが響く空間…その荘厳さと美しさに、ただただ圧倒されて立ち尽くしてしまいました。
本好きでなくとも、誰もが感動する場所
もちろん、世界中の本が好きな方にとっては夢のような場所でしょう。しかし、建築やアート、あるいはただ美しい空間が好きな方なら、誰もがこの場所に魅了されるはずです。一つ一つの本棚、美しい曲線を描く回廊、細やかな装飾、そのすべてが完璧に調和しています。
