Go to Rue Montmartre, and if possible take the pedestrian walkway that leads quietly to Les Halles. This is where you'll find the Café Noir, a small local institution. It's a lively place to have a drink all day long, with a vast terrace stretching out onto the street in fine weather, and at particularly attractive prices - not always the case in this arrondissement. Add to this a rather high-quality snacking offer, and you've got yourself a sure bet.
