This club, one of the oldest in the capital, is based on nearly 40 years of experience since its takeover by Claude Beschu (7 th dan). Reassuring about the quality of courses. Today, it brings together nearly 190 members. Five teachers, including Bruno Louis, 6 th dan and club chairman, plan the courses. They comprise an average of 20 people per session according to levels. The method taught here is entirely traditional and follows the guidelines of the French Judo Federation (F.F.J.). Children are accepted from the age of 4. Thus, all levels are prepared for the passage from the beginner belt to the black belt. The ASVO, which remains faithful to its convictions of openness to other styles, will soon propose a section of Ju Jistu Brazilian. In the meantime, themes are organized all year round to deepen a technique or discover a new one.

SONG LONG PARIS 20 (VIET VO DAO)

Located right in the middle of the 20th arrondissement of Paris, Song Long Paris 20 is one of the rare club Viet Vo Dao to practice method that gave it its name, i.e. Long Song method. Its particularity is that it is halfway between outdoor martial art (facing the combat) and internal martial art (facing the meditation). Founded in 2007 by Maya Byhan, black belt 3rd dan and unique teacher, the club has 50 members all ages confused, making it a friendly club and endearing. The classes take place in the dojo of the gym Louis Lumière which proudly displays its green carpet of protection on the walls and floors. Groups, mixed all levels, hold 15 people on average. The course is always the same long and follows the Song meticulously method. They start with a heating and continue with the work of the different techniques and then by the kuyens (equivalent of the katas in karate) followed by exercises hardening and flexibility. They end in the sessions fighting, history to put all the assets into practice. If you want to go further, the club also offers sessions that approach those found in Tai Chi Chuan, i.e. based on breathing and meditation. Finally, courses to work the techniques of crosse, sword and sword are held throughout the year.

INSTITUT DE VO VINAM DE PARIS

For the little story, Vo Vinam, the national martial art in Vietnam, is the origin of Viet Vo Dao in France. The institute of Vo Vinam is therefore a traditional method and its courses closely follow those of the great Vietnamese masters. The institute brings together sixty members in a private do-jo in the 20 th arrondissement. The latter is a surface of 120 m 2 and on its walls, wooden parts displaying a lot of Japanese drawings and pictures of Japanese masters. The atmosphere is asked… The 60 members of the club by Grégory Foiry, a graduate professor of state (black belt 3rd dan and French champion of kuyen hands) and the founder of the club in 2007 and by two assistants and four alternates. Note that once a year, they travel to Vietnam to train with the greatest masters, an essential guarantee of the quality of courses. The latter, bringing together 25 people per group, are divided into three parts. The first concerns the heating and then the work of the base movements. Then put in the learning of the technical program to finally end the fighting. All under the guise of philosophy in this traditional method of teaching. The internship programme: knife in November, Vietnamese wrestling in December, saber in February and finally, in March, wide and technical sabre of machetes. What to be all about!
