The Beheading Theatre of the Revolution in Paris, designed from 1755 by Ange-Jacques Gabriel.
It offers one of the finest panoramic views of the city of Paris: octagonal in shape, the space is bordered by the Seine, the Champs-Elysées, and the Tuileries Gardens. The Jeu de Paume museum overlooks it, facing the Luxor obelisk. To the west are the Hôtel Crillon and the Hôtel de la Marine. As for the corners of the square, each has been given the allegory of a French city. The splendid square will also be the setting for the Paris Olympic Games next summer.
