On boulevard de la Chapelle, in front of the the Lariboisière hospital, the huge Barbès market is teeming with people and it has all the makings of a Moroccan souk. A large number of merchants, a multi-ethnic crowd and a nice crowd bath where unfortunately there are some very skillful pickpockets... You can feed and clothe the whole family at very interesting prices, even if you will have to look carefully at the quality of the products: some merchants are exceptional, others less quality-conscious. And above all, don't drive around here on market days, you could turn hours before - maybe - finding a place. Recently, a lot of work has been going on in the area, especially under the aerial metro: one further reason to come by public transport.
