A historic mill and restaurant in Paris.
First mentioned in 1622 as the "Moulin du Palais", this flour production building was transformed into a guinguette in 1870. Originally, it consisted of two windmills (the Blute-fin and the Radet), between which a public ball was held under the name of "Moulin de la Galette", a name that has been retained to this day. The Moulin de la Galette was frequented by many artists and painted, notably by Renoir ("Le Bal du Moulin de la Galette"). Although it houses a restaurant and cannot be visited, it can be admired from Rue Lepic and Rue Girardon.
