From boulevard Vincent-Auriol to rue Jeanne-d'Arc, this is not just a food market. At one time, the cheapest part of the market was at the bottom, near the Chevaleret metro station; the further up you went, the higher the prices... At peak times, it's hard to get around. Of particular note are the (many) organic fruit and vegetable stalls, an absolutely impeccable cheesemonger, and excellent breads and pastries. If you're a first-time visitor, allow a good hour to get through it all.
