INALCO was founded by Colbert during the reign of Louis XIV to train interpreters for the Ottoman sultan's court. Turkish, Arabic and Persian were the first languages to be taught. Today, the institute offers more than 100 languages and cultures. Famously called "Langues'O", the institution is a member of the University of Paris Sorbonne and has more than 8,000 students and 300 researchers. There is no language that you cannot learn at INALCO!
