Originally this vast fountain was located in the Château d'Eau, before it was renamed by the Republic. From the second Empire, we owe it to Gabriel Davioud. It is decorated with eight bronze lions of Henri-Alfred Jacquemard from which water jets emerge. She left her first location in 1880 when the monument celebrating the Republic was still there.
