La Liberté - or La Lib for those in the know - is not only one of the cheapest bars in Paname, it's also atypical, simple, festive and, above all, unpretentious. Students, dreamers, chess fans and fans of good old-fashioned rock (or electro) flock here, as does the Formica-look venue. Exhibitions and impromptu concerts make it an institution in the neighborhood and beyond. Indeed, while the area's regulars are numerous, people also come from far and wide to enjoy the breeze of freedom that blows through - and that's good!

À chaque fois que je rejoins mes amis à la Liberté je me sens comme à la maison ! Bienveillance, des petits lives et un super service ! Merci

Depuis le changement de propriétaire, ce bar est passé du folklo sympa au carrément glauque. Seule nuance justifiant la note de 2 au lieu de 1, la présence maintenue d'Ibou, le barman historique. Sinon, on a gardé les côtés un peu lourds: ivrognes lourds avec les femmes, etc., et perdu le côté libertaire qui faisait un peu passer la pilule. La programmation musicale, autrefois intéressante, a été anéantie au profit de rares artistes rivalisant de médiocrité.
