Located in an old "bazaar", The Hood overlooks the wave of the retro with its velvet chairs and skated wooden tables. It's good to be here for a caffeinated parenthesis with Belleville Burns products or Doughmade pastries. Roasted coffee, muffins, cookies, carrot cake gourmands to taste without moderation. Recently neo-bistro, Chef Khanh-Ly Huynh (winner of Masterchef 2015) offers Asian cuisine. One of the assets of the place is, of course, music that plays a lot in this relaxed atmosphere: Lou Reed, Bowie, Prince, Piaf… Just the biggest ones. Live sessions are also organized regularly.

I tried the chicken satay, teh tarik, and pandan chiffon cake. The food was overall delicious, and the service was excellent. As a Singaporean, the flavors were pleasantly close to what I’m used to back home. I noticed many people ordering the chicken rice, so I’m definitely planning to try that on my next visit.

I had the Chicken Hainan Rice at The Hood Paris, and it truly felt like being back home in Asia. The flavors were authentic, comforting, and full of heart. A special shoutout to Zaika, our server, who was incredibly warm and welcoming, he made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving real Asian comfort food in Paris!
