I am perfectly fluent in french, however the guy insisted on asking me if I was born in france or not, if French is my first language, and constantly asking if I wanted him to speak slower. This would have been nice if I had shown any signs of not understanding what he was saying, but I actually hadn't uttered anything at that point, and I am guessing he assumed that because I have thick curly hair and darker features. It really made me very uncomfortable, nd it's really unfortunate because the place is quite nice and the prices are good.
